You may have heard the term ‘U value’ on your dream home journey, which is the measurement of how effectively a building or product can retain heat within. The lower the U value, the better!

To give you some reference, the minimum U value for entrance doors according to building regulations is 1.8 W/m2k. This is typically where most composite doors hover, but the Spitfire S-200 range massively outperforms this with U values as low as 0.92 W/m2k.

This is achieved through the much thicker door leaf, and triple glazing as standard in every door and side panel. By improving the U value to this degree in one of the most vulnerable points for heat loss, you are likely to see a reduction in energy bills as a result.

The first thing customers mention when they see their Spitfire door arrive is the sheer beauty of it, but the security of the door should also be mentioned. Providing the invulnerable security you would expect from a high-end aluminium door, every Spitfire door comes with a Winkhaus multi-point lock, arguably one of the most reliable on the market.

Further to that, the S-200 door sash boasts discreet mechanical fixings that prevent distortion in extreme weather conditions or climates, and subtle micro-adjustment devices in the head and base of the door.

The cherry on the cake is the three layer of security glass, which is why these doors easily achieve all leading security accreditations (including PAS24 & RC2).

N.B The German produced locking system is available as either a 3 point or 5 point option, and you can also upgrade to an automatic slam lock. Another popular upgrade is the day latch, which allows you to flick a subtle catch buried in the frame to stop the door locking you out from outside.
