Where is one of the weakest point on your composite door?
Any good burglar knows that the point to attack is that of least resistance and composite door factory bonded components options are limited, but if glazing is installed in your door, with some of the “clip in” fixings of traditional glazing cassettes, they can provide one such opportunity if the thief is sufficiently determined. Whilst “clip in fixings have been consistently improving they can still be tampered with and whether broken or forced the glazing element of any composite door is considered to be the weakest point. Some of the very first generation composite doors unfortunately have this weakness.
There is one supplier who has used alternative technology to all but eliminate this problem in composite doors and that supplier is one of Composite Door Prices preferred suppliers Rockdoor who having noted the weaknesses and problems of conventional fixings decided than to develop a new technique of glazing that countered these issues
The solution they developed was Press Glazed Technology – whereby using moulding rather than “cut down “slabs, the door can be integrally constructed to allow the polyurethane foam core to be injected to encase the glazed unit providing an airtight, thermally efficient and fully secure solution for the glazing aperture.
Once installed the glazed units are permanently fixed and cannot be forced as the highly toughened glass units are secured 3M glazing tape as well as being encapsulated by thermally efficient PU foam
